Contrary to turnpike exit jokes, nature is alive and well and living in New Jersey.  For almost a decade now, I have been leading readers and friends to green stretches of beauty in our most populous state.  My specialty is nearby nature sites, accompanied by a passion for our Pine Barrens and Delaware Bayshores.  My determination is to reveal the Wild out our windows, within an hour of my Canal Pointe door.  My purpose is to share nature’s availability, importance to our deepest well being.  And, yes, to call attention to its fragility in the face of human depredations; to catalyze protection of wild spaces.

The Princeton region is particularly blessed by her D&R (Delaware & Raritan) Canal and Towpath.  Read the rest of this entry »
